Who runs this site

Codas Media is operated by Codas Labs, LLC. Any question about this policy, or any request about your information, can go to the address below and will be answered by a person.

What the site collects from you

Google Analytics 4 loads a Google script to measure page views and site use. There is no account to create, no login, and no form on this site that posts your details to a server we control.

Where a page offers to sign you up to something, the button opens a message in your own email program, pre-addressed to us, which you then choose to send or discard. Until you press send in your own email program, we do not receive the message.

What your browser stores

When analytics cookies are allowed, Google Analytics 4 uses _ga and _ga_<id> to distinguish visitors and keep session state. Their default expiry is two years, refreshed on visits; your browser may shorten this.

Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked first: analytics cookie storage stays off until Accept, though Google may receive cookieless pings while it is off. Elsewhere, analytics runs by default unless you have saved a Reject choice.

• Your cookie choice is stored on your device in localStorage under codas_consent_v1.
• If you dismiss an announcement bar, your browser also stores its identifier under codas-wbar-dismissed so the same bar does not reappear.
• To withdraw an accepted choice, use Change cookie choice and choose Reject when asked, or clear your browser's site data. The link clears codas_consent_v1 and reloads this page.

Other companies involved in serving this page

These providers receive information when your browser uses their services:

• Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host it keeps standard server logs, which record requests and the network addresses they came from, for operating and securing the service.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces the page uses. Loading a font from Google means your browser makes a request to Google, so Google sees your network address as part of delivering it.
• Google LLC receives analytics data through Google Analytics 4, including page views and site-use information, or cookieless pings when analytics cookie storage is off.

We do not use these services for advertising or profiling.

If you write to us or subscribe

If you subscribe to The Multiplier, or email us, we hold the address you gave us and whatever you chose to write.

• We use your address to send you the thing you asked for, and to reply to you.
• We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it.
• Every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
• You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to the address above and we will do it.

How long we keep things

Correspondence and subscription records are kept while they are useful for the purpose you gave them for, and removed on request. Host server logs are kept on the host's own retention schedule for operational and security purposes.

Children

This site is intended for people running or working in a business. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Where your information is handled

We are based in the United States and our service providers process data there. If you write to us from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the United States.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it. Because the site collects so little, we expect changes to be rare and to follow a change in what the site does, not a change in what we want to do with your data.
